Joyful holiday season

December was filled with lots of fun actitives.  Christmas lights explorations, lots of Christmas goodies to eat, loving our tree and holiday parties! How fun is it to see your face/nose up close on a Christmas ball ornament?  We enjoyed every minute of it.  A special memory was our trip to a reenactment of Bethelem with real Roman soldiers, marketplace and live animals in the manger with Mary, Jesus and Joseph!

Lights, lights and more lights!

Grammy and Pop came down in plenty of time for Christmas.  We brought them along on our traditional voyage to Gaylord Opryland to visit their Christmas decor including hundreds of lights! Christmas lights, music and decorations are a treat for children of all ages.  I love the Christmas spirit! It is so special for me to see Coop and Brady embracing the spirit and loving Christmas time as much as I do.  Brady, in particular, loves to drive around just to find the most spectacular lights and decorations.

Coop's Christmas Concert

The 4s/5s at Coop's preschool celebrated the holidays with a wonderful holiday concert.  Songs in English, French and Spanish were all performed.  Coop sang with enthusiasm , hand symbols and all! It was fun to see all the children relaxed and enjoying themselves after there weeks of practicing.  Following the concert we shared hot chocolate and cookies with Cooper's friends and family.  We hope to share some of the video soon!

Our Christmas Tree

Again we scoured the Oak Hill Boy Scout Christmas Tree lot as Cooper depicted on the way in the car, "Daddy, we need to find the biggest tree!" So nice to see he is following in the Gaffney Christmas Tree mentality.  We took special delight in bringing home our tree and proudly declaring that "it touches the ceiling!"

Welcome Elf on the Shelf Joe

Our Elf on the Shelf came bearing gifts- Dr Seuss' Grinch PJs for us to wear.  How fun! Cooper promptly named him "Joe".  We enjoyed searching for him every morning- Brady really has a keen eye for finding him!

Breakfast with Santa

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we returned for our annual Breakfast with Santa at Cheekwood.  Cooper and Brady were veterans and relaxed when it came to Santa, I was not so sure...We ate pancakes, drank hot chocolate and ate "reindeer food".  We enjoyed Christmas music, storytelling and ornament making.  We were excited to meet the Damps and many other friends there.  The day was especially delightfully warm so we spent lots of time around the trains (yes, again) prior to leaving.  Thanks to Grandpa Mike for all the photos!
