A Day at the Beach

On several occasions we spent time at the beach along Eastman Lake. Tuesday I really explored the beach fully. Initially we had clouds and even some light rain, but quickly the skies cleared to beautiful sunshine. We relived numerous stories of Mommy's childhood on the beach. To continue the animal theme on my vacation, i was pleased to see a duck wandering along the beach. As it became a warm day, i had no hesitation in heading into the lake for a swim. I topped it off with a hamburger from Peppermint Pattys.

Lobsters!!!

Although i did not participate in the consumption of a true New England dinner, i enjoyed meeting the lobsters. I was intrigued by their front claws. Apparently lobster is quite a treat, as Mommy and Poppi were quite happy.

Up Close and Personal with a Cow

Mommy, Poppi, Grandpop, Grammy, Jeannemarie, Aunt Peggy Anne and I all headed off to the Billings Farm in Woodstock Vermont. They have lots of animals for kids to touch and learn about in a historic barn. I was able to pet cows, chickens, sheep and horses. They had numerous cows- babies as new as 10 days old, toddlers, and even pregnant cows. One of the toddler cows decided that i needed a kiss. Much to all of our surprise she twisted her neck and came out to greet me! Somehow Grammy and I kept standing. After all was said and done, i was left with some grass slobber/mud across my cheek and forehead. Although i was startled i quickly recovered to continue petting/greeting other cows and horses. Billings Farm is still a working dairy farm. As you can see, i truly enjoyed the complimentary chocolate milk, my first taste of such a thing! The Vermont countryside is certainly beautiful!
