I had a wonderful barbeque to celebrate my First Birthday! In addition to my family i mentioned before, the Damps, Millers, Garriss', Carrolls, Whites and the Ostroskis came to monkey around with me. We played with bubbles, waterguns and the pingpong table. We enjoyed burgers, dogs and chicken. Most of all we enjoyed the monkey cake, which is perfect for me as Mommy and Poppi think i am part monkey! I was spoiled to receive numerous gifts. More importantly, i was spoiled by all those who came to spend time with me on this exciting day! Thanks to the President for taking such wonderful pictures!
Saturday morning and afternoon I played with Aunt kate, Uncle Johnny and the Dial Gang who all arrived from Atlanta. I was very intrigued by Joey's pacifier, good thing Lily was around to keep me in line! Mommy had lots of help from Grammy, Grandpop, Jeannemarie, Grandy, Kate, Johnny, Michele and Poppi in making sure everything was ready for the barbeque.
I was a lucky boy to have many family and friends arrive in town for the weekend of June 21st, my first birthday!!! Friday morning I played with Aunt Jeannemarie, Grammy and Grandpop. After Grandy and the President arrived we went out to lunch and then i showed them my favorite park. I showed off my swing and junglegym skills, which i have been practicing in gym class. Friday night we cooked dinner and were joined by Cousin Ben, Amy and David. In honor of the President I modeled my Oklahoma Sooners onesie, there was debate whether i looked more like a gymnast or a coach without pants!
We spent Memorial Day at the beach with Cousin Jack, Aunt Judy and Uncle James. Just a reminder- James and Poppi are childhood friends from San Antonio. Jack was born about three months after me last September. It was great to spend time with them! Jack and I crawled around the beach, explored the condo and "swam" in the ocean. We played in the sand (and ate the sand at times). The first day the sound of the ocean scared me a little, but by the end if you were not closely watching me i was crawling headfirst into the ocean. I loved the beach and learned to find the sound of the ocean soothing- must have gotten this from Mommy's grandpop Gaffney who loved the Jersey Shore. It was hard to say goodbye to Jack but i am anxious to see him in late June when he will be in his new house in San Antonio! Uncle James took many more pictures, so more to follow when i get those...
